eMail Marketing

what is email marketing?

What Is eMail Marketing?

Email marketing is the process of directly marketing a commercial message to a group of people using email.

In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing.

It typically involves using email to send ads, request business, or solicit sales or donations, and is meant to build loyalty, trust, or brand awareness.

How do you make money with email marketing? After all, every business exists to earn revenue.

Revenue is to a business what income is to a person. It’s the whole point of having a business. That’s what makes it worth doing. Revenue is how your business grows into an asset with real value.

An email marketing business generates revenue in a very simple and straightforward way:

In email marketing, you build a relationship with your list of subscribers by sending them your email newsletter.

Revenue comes from promoting offers in your emails to your subscribers.

Now… What do I mean by relationship?

It may not be a face to face relationship, however, is the kind of relationship an author, a publisher or any given expert has with an audience and his/her fans.

This is like any other relationship; you will need communication and trust to build a nice, healthy and lasting relationship.

So… how do I get their emails?

What you need is a squeeze page, but wait what on earth is a squeeze page?

A squeeze page is a landing page designed to capture opt-in email addresses from potential subscribers.

The goal of a squeeze page is to convince, cajole, or otherwise ‘’squeeze’’ a visitor into providing one of their most sought-after and coveted pieces of personal data: the email address.

An example of a squeeze page is the one you enter your email so you could get free information, a series of tips, a free PDF report, or access to a video or audio.

Whatever the reason, you entered your email address and clicked a button.

As a result, you began receiving periodic email communications from the person or business that puts that box on the web.

As an email marketer you will be sending out your own newsletter, after all, you can’t build a relationship with people if you don’t talk to them.

Your newsletter is how you talk and how you communicate, always be yourself.

One of the challenges in email marketing is making sure you communicate on a regular, preferably daily basis. There are plenty of ways to do this, and without strain or stress.

Here's How:

There are a few options you can choose from. Choose the one that suits you the best.

  • Opt-in box
  • Squeeze Pages
  • Landing Pages

Opt-in Box

Opt-in boxes are as the name says little boxes placed around a website, they usually offer "gifts" as a way to get people to opt-in the website's newsletter.

Here's an example of an opt-in box:

Squeeze Pages

Squeeze Pages are probably the best way to get people to "opt-in", there are a variety of them and are known to go to the point without having many distractions like:

  • Too many images: Usually two at most (logo and eBook image or whatever it is you are giving away).
  • Buttons: Buttons are distractions that get people to have many options besides making the decision to either opt-in or not (which is something we don't want since it will lower our opt-in rate).

Here's an example of a Squeeze Page:

Landing Pages

Landing pages are as the name says pages with the finality of providing information and at the same time to offer something to people in order to get them to subscribe to the website's newsletter.

Here's how they work:

Visitor Clicks On An Ad Or Link » They Get To Your Landing Page » Which In Return Will Redirect Them To The Offer

Now some landing pages will not redirect people to an offer but have that same offer integrated which means that they won't have to be redirected to the offer and will be able to subscribe right there.

Here's an example of a landing page:

As you can see there are different options for you to get people to subscribe to your newsletter, all you have to do is choose which method you will be using in order to get subscribers, or you could use them all. Why not? right?

If you know more methods in order to get new subscribers other than the ones I've mentioned, please let me know in the comments below.
